3 cricketers who’ve made it to Forbes list of Richest Athletes

Forbes has announced its annual list of the world’s 100 highest-paid athletes and Virat Kohli is the sole Indian cricketer on the list.

The list has been topped by Mayweather, who earned $285 million in last twelve months. In this article, we take a look at other Indian Cricketers who have made the list in the past.
Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli on Wednesday joined the esteemed club of being one of the 3 Indian cricketers to make it to the Forbes list of richest athletes.
Every year Forbes issues a list consisting of the richest athletes in the world taking into account their salaries and endorsements.
Kohli has gotten into the list that is dominated by Football, Rugby, Basketball and Baseball players. In fact, he’s the only cricketer on the list.
Virat Kohli has secured the 83rd position on the list with an annual earning of $24 million. Coincidentally he was also there on the list last year as well on 89th position.
Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar is probably the World’s greatest Batsman ever. With 100 international Centuries, it’s highly doubted that anyone would be able to match his numbers.
In 2013, Sachin Tendulkar featured on the Forbes list of richest athletes. With an earning of $22 million he sat 51st on the list and has been the 2nd highest placed Indian Cricketer on the list ever since.
Tendulkar was a grade A player for most of his career according to the BCCI wage slabs and endorsed a lot of brands like Luminous, Kent RO etc.
MS Dhoni
But the list’s winner amongst the Indian Cricketers is MS Dhoni. Captain cool has won every ICC trophy there.
MS Dhoni has appeared twice on the list with 13th being his highest ever position in 2013 and then followed by 23rd in 2015. He had net earnings of $31 million. Brands like TVS and Lays have been endorsed by Mahi.
