After the failure of India’s famed batting line-up in New Zealand, fans and experts are starting to raise fingers at some of the spots in the test team. And the most critical of all is Ajinkya Rahane because of his recent form in toughest format of the game. We take a look at potential replacements who all are putting their hands up in the right directions.
Shubman Gill
This is the straight forward replacement for Ajinkya Rahane if team management is thinking in that direction. Shubman Gill is ready to get the ball rolling on international stage for quite some time now. He has impressed everyone in first class cricket and India A tours for last 2 years. He has perfect technique to thrive in all conditions with magnificent horizontal bat shots. His first class average stands at 73.55 at the moment and already being termed as next big thing in Indian cricket.
Shubman Gill smashed another century in India A's tour of New Zealand. Currently unbeaten on 107.

Priyank Panchal
Gujarat has been one of the most consistent teams in the domestic circuit across formats, and one of the reasons for that is Priyank Panchal. His form in last 2-3 seasons of Ranji Trophy has been from top drawer. His career stats are 6417 runs at an average of 46.83. Though he will be playing out of his position in batting lineup if he replaces Ajinkya Rahane but we have seen plenty of examples in the past with players taking opportunities and adopting the new roles. Gujarat has played most of their home matches at Valsad and pitch always does something there for the quicks early on, if that can certify the technique of this Ahmedabad born player.
