Williamson, Taylor help New Zealand Win maiden WTC title
New Zealand openers, Tom Latham and Devon Conway came out with a positive intent in the second innings. Conway did play some stylish strokes before India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin removed Latham with a brilliant delivery. Ashwin then also dismissed Devon Conway to give India a slight hope of turning the tables in this WTC final. However, New Zealand’s most experienced batting duo of skipper Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor composed a sensational match-winning stand of 96 runs to take the game away from India.

A contest worthy to be called a Final.
The pendulum kept swinging both ways throughout the game but it was NZ who showed why they are the number 1 test side.

IND vs NZ, WTC Final Live:
Earlier in the Test match, India were bowled out for 170 runs in the second innings having set a target of 139 runs for the Kiwis. While analyzing the overall picture, India will surely want to rethink their unnecessary aggressive approach with the bat especially when they lost the key wickets of captain Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane early on Day 6. Not even a single India batter scored a fifty in this World Test Championship Final. For New Zealand, Devon Conway composed a wonderful half-century in the first innings while Taylor and Williamson batted amazingly well in the second innings.
However, the star performer in this India vs New Zealand, WTC Final was Kyle Jamieson who picked up 7 wickets in the Test match including a stunning fifer in the first innings. Jamieson was deservedly named the Man of the Match for his superb bowling performance. Kiwi captain Kane Williamson was undoubtedly the best batsman in this entire Test match with brilliant scores of 49 and 52 not out.
On the other hand, India’s long wait to win an ICC trophy still continues.
