My dream is to play in IPL: Hetmyer

Windies batsman Shimron Hetmyer who came in the limelight for producing a quick-fire century in the first ODI against India has revealed that playing in the IPL is his dream. But at the same time he made it clear that for every youngster in Windies, the priority has to be to play for the national team.
Hetmyer talks about playing in IPL
Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was highly impressed by Hetmyer’s performance in the first ODI and he felt the the Windies batsman may bag a lucrative deal in IPL.

When asked about Harbhajan’s statement, the left-hand batsman said that it feels good to know that one of India’s greatest spinners rates him highly. He revealed that it is a dream of him to play in the IPL. But he also made it clear that for now, his focus is on representing the Windies the best he can. He explained that if rewards come down the road, then so be it.
Priority is to represent Windies national team: Hetmyer
The Windies batsman admitted that all young cricketers back home aspire to play in the IPL. But he believes that first and foremost, the priority should be to represent the Windies, because he feels that is the highest level you can reach as a cricketer.

Hetmyer says he is a natural stroke-maker
When asked about his batting style, the left-hand batsman said that he is more of a Lara fan than Arthurton. He explained that Lara was the one he looked up to when he was young. He noted that a lot of people have mentioned that he bats similar to Lara, but he believes this style comes naturally to him. He feels that he is a natural stroke-maker and when it comes off, it feels good.
