Kohli unhappy with the SG ball
The SG ball which is used in Tests in India has under come under the scanner in the recent times and now India captain Virat Kohli too has expressed his displeasure. The right-hand batsman in fact wants the Dukes to replace the SG ball in Test cricket.
Kohli feels the quality of the SG ball gone down
Speaking with the media ahead of the second Test against Windies, the India captain said that the quality of the ball used to be quite high before and now he doesn’t understand the reason why it’s gone down. He revealed they haven’t seen before a ball scuffed up in five overs.

The skipper also observed that a Dukes ball is still good quality, Kookaburra is still good quality and he admitted that although the Kookaburra has some limitations, the quality is never compromised.
Kohli thinks Dukes is the best for Test cricket
According to Kohli, the Dukes is the most suited ball for Test match cricket. He also stated that if there’s a situation, he would vouch for that to be used all over the world because of the consistency of the ball. He pointed out that the bowlers are in the game at any stage because the seam of the Dukes ball is so hard and upright.
Speaking about the spinners, he said that if the ball is hard you can get that extra pace, but if the ball goes so soft in 10-12 overs, then your effort comes down by 20%. So he thinks the quality of the ball has to be maintained.
The Indian captain feels that if this is the situation then we will have too many dead sessions in a Test match, which we don’t want to see. He added that we want to see exciting cricket and guys working hard for runs, being in the battle all day.
