Young Indian batsman Hardik Pandya once again showcased his incredible power hitting ability by scoring a quickfire knock of 45 runs off just 22 balls against New Zealand in the fifth ODI. The highlight of Pandya’s cameo was his three consecutive sixes against Kiwi spinner Todd Astle in the 47th over.
Pandya unleashes his fury as India bounces back
India were in all sorts of trouble in the fifth ODI when Pandya arrived at the crease. India were tottering at six down for 190 runs and most importantly only seven overs were left in the innings.
But the right-hand batsman took the attack to the opposition and slammed five sixes during his stay of 22 balls. The Indian batsman was particularly severe against leg-spinner Todd Astle who bowled the 47th over of the innings.
Hardik hammered Astle for three consecutive sixes in the over and then scored one six each in the next two overs to take India beyond 250 runs.

The second ball of the over, Astle bowled a short delivery and Pandya clobbered it over mid-wicket boundary with disdain. On the next delivery, the Kiwi bowler went a little wide and bowled it outside the off stump, but Pandya used his power and carved a six over covers by playing an incredible inside-out lofted drive.
On the next ball, Pandya once again went for a slog and produced a huge six. Three sixes in three balls and Hardik had stamped his presence in the game.
