विराट कोहली को खेल रत्न से सम्मानित किया जाएगा!

भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के कप्तान और विश्व क्रिकेट में नंबर वन बल्लेबाज विराट कोहली को 25 सितंबर को खेल रत्न से सम्मानित किया जाएगा. वीरवार को खेल मंत्रालय द्वारा यह घोषणा की गई. गौरतलब है कि खेल रत्न खेल विभाग का सबसे ऊंचा पदक है.

यह समारोह राष्ट्रपति भवन में होगा और राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद द्वारा पुरूस्कार दिए जाएंगे. इस पुरूस्कार में पदक के साथ 7.5 लाख रुपये भी होंगे.

रिकॉर्ड

मौजूदा समय में कोहली विश्व के नंबर एक बल्लेबाज हैं और बीते कुछ वर्षों में क्रिकेट में उन्होने काफी ज्यादा अच्छा प्रदर्शन किया है. उनकी लय और उनकी बल्लेबाजी को देखकर सभी उनकी महान बल्लेबाज सचिन तेंदुलकर से तुलना करते हैं.

कोहली को 2016 और 2017 में भी इस पदक के लिए नामांकित किया गया था लेकिन दुर्भाग्यवश उन्हे उन वर्षों में पदक नहीं मिला. कप्तान कोहली ने अब तक 71 टेस्ट मैच में कुल 6147 रन बनाए हैं और जिसमें कुल 23 शतक शामिल हैं. एकदिवसीय क्रिकेट में उनके नाम 211 एकदिवसीय मुकाबलों में 9779 रन शामिल हैं.

अन्य पदक विजेता

गौरतलब है कि विराट कोहली के साथ वेट लिफ्टर साईखोम मीराबाई चानू को भी खेल रत्न से सम्मानित किया जाएगा. चानू को विश्व चैंपियनशिप में 48kg के वर्ग में गोल्ड मेडल जीतने के बाद नामांकित किया गया था.

गौरतलब है कि चानू ने कॉमनवेल्थ खेलों में भी येल्लो मेटल जीता था. हालांकि वो एशिया कप में एक चोट के कारण नहीं खेल पाई थीं.

Kohli, who presently is the #1 batsmen in the world according to the ICC ranking has excelled at the sport of cricket in the last few years. His form has been exceptional and his batting has many people comparing him to the great Sachin Tendulkar.

Kohli was nominated for the award in 2016 and 2017 but unfortunately missed out. To his name, captain Kohli has an impressive 6147 run record in 71 Tests. This includes 23 centuries and in 211 ODIs he’s made 9779 runs.

Another receiver

Along with him, weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu will also be receiving the prestigious award. Chanu who nominated for the award after she won the gold medal in the World Championships in the 48kg category.

Along with that, she won the yellow metal in the Commonwealth Games 2018. She was unable to compete in the Asian Games due to an injury.
