Rishabh Pant may have impressed everyone with his daredevil batting skills but his work behind the stumps still seems raw and it was once again reflected as he dropped Chris Lynn in the second T2oI versus Australia. And this made the fans furious who started criticizing the Indian wicket-keeper on social media.
Pant drops Lynn
The Indian team management decided to play young Rishabh Pant as the wicket-keeper and dropped MS Dhoni for the T2oI series against Australia. However, pant’s inexperience behind the stumps is evident and it cost the team dearly as he dropped Lynn at Melbourne.
The incident happened on the first ball of the third over. Left-hand batsman Chris Lynn edged a delivery by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the ball was traveling towards the gap between the wicket-keeper and the slips.
Rohit Sharma who was standing in the slips went towards his right-side to catch the ball, however at the same time, Pant dived towards his left and tried to catch the ball with one hand. But he failed to reach the ball and it burst out after hitting his glove. A chance went begging down.

To India’s dismay, one ball later Jasrpit Bumrah dropped the same batsman at fine-leg and the ball even went for a six.
However, the dropped chances didn’t affect much as Lynn was caught at deep point in the next over.

Rishabh Pant surely gonna have a hard time behind the stumps in the test series. This is just a preview, He has to get better with his technique and abilities sooner. #AUSvIND

Rishabh Pant needs to improve his game behind the stumps. Not just in Australia but also in England he was pretty average. Giving almost 10 runs extra per game. Better make up with the bat. #AusInd #AUSvIND #INDvsAUS @BCCI

Rishabh Pant drops a catch or fails to collect the ball behind the wickets and he looks at the bowler as if to say, "Yaar, theek se bowling kar." #AUSvIND #BringBackDhoni

Khalil and Rishabh Pant look completely out of sorts. Pants glove work against spinners look like he is catching a hot potato

India restrict Australia in second T20I
Meanwhile, in the second T20I, Indian bowlers performed a lot better and restricted the home team 132 for seven wickets after 19 overs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Khaleel Ahmed claimed wickets in the powerplays and then Krunala and Kuldeep kept the noose tight in the middle overs. Bumrah too did well in the middle overs ensuring India don’t give away the advantage.
