The Hundred Cricket Rules, Format, Teams, Schedule, Broadcast in India

The Hundred tournament will soon begin from 21 July which will consists of matches for men and women. A total of 8 teams are participating in this tournament, with some of the big names like Jos Buttler, Glenn Phillips, and Jofra Archer also featuring for their respective teams. It will be a first high profile tournament for a shorter format than the T20. The 1st season was originally scheduled to take place in the last year but got delayed due to the pandemic. The 8 teams are, Birmingham Phoenix, Manchester Originals, London ,SpiritNorthern Superchargers, Oval Invincibles, Trent Rockets, Southern Brave, and Welsh Fire.

Rules of The Hundred
- There are 100 balls per innings and whoever scores the most runs is the winner.
- The fielding side switch concludes after 10 balls.
- The bowlers must deliver five or ten consecutive balls.
- The captain makes the final decision.
- Each bowler is limited to delivering a maximum of 20 balls per game.
- Each bowling team is allowed a two-and-a-half minute strategic timeout.
- In the middle of the game, the coach can discuss strategies with the players.
- There will be a 25-ball power-play for each team.
- A maximum of 2 fielders will be allowed outside the circle in the power-play overs.

The Hundred Format & Schedule
Due to the tournament’s Round-Robin format, all teams will face each other once in the league stage.All teams will also get to play a bonus match against a team from their region. Following the conclusion of the league stage, the top of the table will advance directly to the finals.

Match timings: Single: Men’s – 11:00 PM, Women’s – 7:30 PM
Double Header – Men’s – 7:00 PM & 10:30 PM, Women’s – 3:30 PM & 7 PM
