Sensational half-centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw allowed Delhi Capitals to defeat Rajasthan Royals by six wickets and claim the top position in Indian Premier League 2019.
The terrific hitting from the Delhi batsmen also ruined the party for Ajinkya Rahane who had scored a high-quality hundred earlier in the night.
Dhawan lays foundation, Pant finishes in style
Delhi Capitals had a fantastic start to their chase as Shikhar Dhawan blazed to 54 off just 27 balls. He scored 72 runs for the first wicket with Prithvi Shaw who was struggling to get the big shots going.

Iyer’s quick dismissal put Delhi in a spot of bother but Rishabh Pant stitched a vital 84 run partnership with Shaw for the third wicket. But Shaw (42 off 39 balls) was dismissed by Gopal as he tried to up the ante in the 17th over.
Sherfane Rutherford was sent back by Dhawal Kulkarni in the next over but he scored 11 off 5 balls to take Delhi closer to the win.
Delhi reach the top in points table
With 12 needed off seven balls, Pant cantered Jofra Archer for a six over long-on and then hammered Unadkat for another six on the second ball of the final over to seal Delhi’s 7th win in IPL season 12.
This win has pushed Delhi ahead of CSK which means they are the number one team in IPL for now with seven wins in ten games.
