Rohit jumps to No.2 spot in ODI batting rankings

Indian opener Rohit Sharma had a successful Asia Cup campaign. As a skipper he lead India to the title triumph and as a batsman he scored 317 runs at an average of 105.66. This astounding batting performance has propelled him to number 02 in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings. Meanwhile, other Indian players have improved their rankings as well.
It is India at number one and two in batting rankings
Rohit now has 842 rating points while India’s star batsman Virat Kohli is still sitting at the top with 884 rating points.

At number three is England’s Joe Root with 818 rating points.
Shikhar Dhawan who bagged the man-of-the-tournament award for scoring 342 runs has moved to the fifth spot.
Bumrah retains his top spot in bowler’s rankings
In the bowling department, pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has retained his top spot courtesy of his eight wickets in Asia Cup trophy. The pace bowler was effective with the new ball but his consistency in delivering yorkers in the death overs stood out.
Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav was India’s highest wicket-taker in the Asia Cup with ten wickets. He too benefited from his sterling performance and he has leap-frogged to number three in the rankings.
Ravindra Jadeja is at the forefront amongst the players who made massive strides in the rankings. His seven wickets in four games moved him fourteen places in the rankings and he now sits at number 39.
Rashid Khan tops the all-rounders list
The Asia Cup was a special tournament for Afghanistan who showed glimpses of their potential in the tournament. Rashid Khan finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker with ten wickets and also scored vital runs with the bat. This all-round performance has earned him the top spot in the all-rounders list.
Meanwhile team India has retained the top rank in the ODI team rankings after Rohit Sharma lead the team to the seventh Asia Cup title.
