It is still a few a months for the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League to start but the rivalry between the teams has already begun. The three-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians clashed with Sunrisers Hyderabad but not on a cricket field but on the battlefield of Twitter. And this clash of the franchises has provided ample entertainment to the fans.
Mumbai Indians put the first foot forward on Twitter
It all started with Mumbai Indians posting a picture of their players on Twitter with a caption, ‘Find a better allrounder trio. We will wait’.

The picture included three all-rounders, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, and Keiron Pollard. Hardik is known for his six-hitting ability and his medium pace bowling is more than handy while his brother Krunal is a reliable middle-order batsman and delivers effective left-arm spin. The Windies cricketer Pollard is a hard-hitting batsman and doubles up as a medium-pace bowler.
The trio is an integral part of Mumbai’s set-up and has won the side several matches.
Hyderabad’s response to Mumbai Indians
Soon after Mumbai tweeted the picture of their all-rounders, another IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad came up with a witty response.
Hyderabad posted a picture of their all-rounders and said that ‘The wait is over’. The picture included Shakib-Al-Hasan, Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan.
Shakib- Al-Hasan is Bangladesh’s premier all-rounder and is known for his controlled left-arm spin and matured batting in the middle-order.
Rashid Khan is regarded as one of the best bowlers in white-ball cricket and has recorded phenomenal numbers in franchise cricket all-over the world. But equally critical is his batting in the lower order. Rashid has changed the fate of the game with his lusty blows on numerous occasions.
While Mohammad Nabi too is a prolific spin bowler and an equally good batsman.
Mumbai has the last laugh
With a witty response, Hyderabad stumped Mumbai but Mumbai came up with an astonishing comeback to have the last laugh.
