Indian women cricket team’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur will miss the first match for Sydney Thunder in WBBL 2018/19.
Looking forward to Harmanpreet joining team: Coach Broadbent
The franchise’s coach Joanne Broadbent confirmed Harmanpreet’s unavailability and said that the Indian batter will be missed but he also noted that it provides a good opportunity for the younger player to step-up.
He stated that they are obviously looking forward to Harmanpreet joining them for the WBBL 04.
The coach explained that everyone saw what Kaur can do in the recent world cup and he feels that she will add a lot of both to their batting and bowling attack in this season.
At the same time, he is confident about the depth in their squad and they look at this as an opportunity for someone else to step in the mix.
Thunder take on Renegades in the first game
The Sydney Thunder will lock horns against Melbourne Renegades in their first match in this season’s Rebel Women’s Big Bash League.
The match will be played on Sunday 02nd December.
Harmanpreet a vital player for Thunder
