Indian batsmen warmed up in style against the Cricket Australia XI in the warm-up match ahead of the first Test. Five batsmen scored fifties as India amassed 358 runs in the first innings while the only disappointment for Team India was KL Rahul’s ugly dismissal.
Indian batsmen score five fiftiesÂ
India opted for Prithvi Shaw and KL Rahul to open the innings in the practice match. Shaw continued his good form and produced a quick-fire knock of 66 runs off just 69 balls.
Chesteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane too had a good time in the middle. Each of them scored a half-century while Hanuma Vihari made his presence felt by scoring 53 runs off 88 balls.
Rohit Sharma who is making a comeback in the Test side lasted for just 55 balls but scored quickly and produced 40 vital runs.

Bangar feels Rahul is finding new ways to get out
The one to disappoint was opening batsman KL Rahul. He just scored three runs and lasted for just 18 balls.
After the day’s play batting coach Sanjay Bangar stated that Rahul is not a young player anymore and he is on his second tour here. He also pointed out that Rahul has played 30 Tests and he has a responsibility.
Bangar revealed that they expect him to play with that responsibility and play his role for the team.
At the same time, he backed Rahul by saying that Rahul has been looking in good shape, including today and it is just that he is finding new ways to get out.
According to Bangar, even today, the ball was quite afar when Rahul played it away from his body and lost his wicket.
Aaron Hardie makes an impactÂ

On the other hand, Australia pace bowler Aaron Hardie impressed everyone by claiming four wickets. Importantly he got rid of Indian captain Virat Kohli who was looking in fine touch.
Hardie got rid of Rohit Sharma as well and sent back tailenders R Ashwin and Mohammad Shami in quick time.
