England captain Joe Root notched up a remarkable 21st Test hundred on Day 4 to set up a brilliant ending to this gripping first Test in Nottingham. However, India are definitely still very much in the game due to Jasprit Bumrah’s magnificent fifer.
Joe Root’s century gives England the Advantage
After scoring a brilliant fifty in the first innings, Joe Root continued to show his class on a difficult Trent Bridge wicket against a quality Indian bowling attack. The right-handed English skipper racked up a remarkable century as he was absolutely amazing on the entire Day 4 of the Test match. The hosts kept on losing wickets at regular intervals but he stood rock solid at one end.
