A disciplined approach in both departments enabled Team India to win the first ODI against Australia. Kedar Jadhav’s spirited performance both with the bat and the ball was the highlight of India’s win while Dhoni’s responsible half-century and Indian bowlers’ accurate bowling played a key role as well. And the cricket fraternity appreciated the hosts for this win in theĀ IND vs AUS 1st ODI on Twitter.
Jadhav stars in a low-scoring encounter
The Hyderabad pitch was slow contrary to the expectations and it tested the batsmen from both the teams. Indian bowlers made the most of the conditions to restrict Australia to 236 runs as Mohammad Shami bowled superbly while Ravindra Jadeja kept a lid on the scoring rate. Kuldeep Yadav chipped in two wickets as well as the visitors failed to put up a respectable total.
However Aussie bowlers pushed India on the backfoot by removing inform batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the 21st over. The subsequent departure of Rayadu added to India’s woes but Kedar Jadhav rose to the occasion to deliver another match-winning innings.
The right-hand batsman tagged with Dhoni and steered India home unscratched in the 49th over. Dhoni scored vital 59 runs while Jadhav remained unbeaten on 89 runs.

Kedar has finished it in style. Is going to play a very crucial role in the World Cup. Good win this for India on a wicket which was not very easy to bat.
And always great to see Dhoni with his calmness being there at the end. #IndvAus— Mohammad Kaif (@MohammadKaif) March 2, 2019

This is a very satisfying win for India because it was achieved without a defining performance from.the top order.

This game was truly a Kedar Jadhav show. Never gave an impression that he had got in at a difficult time. https://t.co/jLKCXX6Zud

He stated that the partnership between Dhoni and Jadhav was outstanding and thinks that the bowling won the game for them. He explained that Jadeja was amazing as he bowled 10 overs for less than 35 runs and bowled just the tight lines and set the fields accordingly. He’s a great asset in the field too.
He also admired Shami and revealed that he has never seen him so lean before. Kohli pointed out that he got Maxwell out on 40-odd with a beautiful wicket and he is just looking good for the World Cup.
