England vs India 1st Test: Team India couldn’t have thought of a better first day on the start of this England tour. The Indian bowlers completely dominated the proceedings to put the hosts on the mat getting England bowled out for a below-par total of 183 runs in the first innings. It was a really poor batting performance from the hosts that too while playing at home.

After losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, Jasprit Bumrah got India off to an amazing start by dismissing England opener Rory Burns in the first over of the Test match. England’s No.3 Zak Crawley looked really good for his 27 runs before Mohammed Siraj got the better of him just before lunch on Day 1. India’s senior fast bowler Mohammed Shami then removed Dominic Sibley at the start of the second session.

For England, the duo of skipper Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow then resurrected the innings with a fine partnership of 72 runs for the fourth wicket. However, Bairstow getting out on the last ball before the Tea break proved to be a massive turning point in the Test match. England captain Joe Root once again looked in a great form smashing a brilliant innings of 64 runs. But then the hosts suffered a dramatic collapse as from 138 for 3, they crumbled to 160 for 9.

Even though, Sam Curran smacked a few lusty blows towards the end, England eventually bundled out for a total of 183 runs in their first innings. For India, Bumrah and Shami were absolutely superb finishing with four and three wickets respectively.

IND vs ENG Live
India’s brand new opening pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out to bat for a short duration of 13 overs. Both the Indian batters tackled the opening spells from the England pacers really well to come out unscathed at stumps on Day 1 with India 21 for no loss.
