virat kohli predicts Jos Buttler dismissal

The first Test match between India and England is underway at Trentbridge, Nottingham. Virat Kohli lost the toss for the seventh consecutive time in England and the hosts elected to bat. He may have not had luck with the coin lately but the Indian skipper turned fortune teller and correctly predicted Jos Buttler’s dismissal.

Virat Kohli predicts Jos Buttler’s Dismissal

Buttler came into bat at his usual no.7 position after tea. He is known for his counter-attacking skills but failed to get going yesterday. Most of the balls he faced came from Jasprit Bumrah.

The Indian speedster threw everything in his locker at Buttler and did not allow him to settle down. He produced swinging deliveries moving both ways combined with fuller deliveries.

Kohli could sense Buttler’s uneasiness and made a prediction in the 54th over. Standing in the slips, he signaled to Rishabh Pant, “Out hai”. Buttler survived the over, however, he got out in Bumrah’s next over. Having played a lot of dots, he pushed at a wide delivery which straightened enough and took the edge. Day 1 Review

England lost their first wicket in the very first over. Indian bowlers used the conditions really well. Bumrah and Shami were the pick of the bowlers and they took four and three wickets respectively. Shardul Thakur got the prized scalp of Joe Root and he finished with two wickets. Jadeja bowled just three overs and Mohammed Siraj chipped in with the wicket of Zak Crawley.

The hosts were looking good at 138-3 with Bairstow and Root at the crease. From that point, they lost wickets in a hurry and were bundled out for 183. India got two DRS reviews in their favor. In reply, the visitors posted 21 runs without the loss of any wicket at stumps.
