ENG vs IND Live: Things have become really exciting in the ongoing first Test match between England and India at Trent Bridge. The Nottingham weather did interrupt the proceedings for a bit of time as the rain gods constantly played a start-stop battle. However, once the weather settled down, both the teams displayed quality amount of cricket action on the field in order to grab the upper hand in the Test match.

India take first innings lead

India’s swashbuckling wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant was unfazed with the challenging conditions on offer and decided to play his natural game. The left-hander even came down the ground to smash James Anderson for a crisp boundary before Ollie Robinson got the better of him in the very next over. The lanky England fast bowler picked up his second wicket of the Test match. Pant managed to score 25 runs off 20 deliveries that included 3 fours and 1 six.

However, at the other end, KL Rahul looked really calm and kept his composure while playing some gorgeous strokes in that opening session on Day 3. India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja provided solid support to Rahul stitching an excellent unbeaten partnership of 46 runs for the sixth wicket. The visitors took an important first innings lead of 8 runs at the end of the first session on Day 3 of the first Test with the scorecard reading 191 for 5.

Team India added a total of 66 runs in that session before lunch losing the only wicket of Pant. Rahul is still looking solid as a rock batting on an unbeaten 77-run innings that comprises of 11 boundaries while Jadeja is also set at 27 not out. With two set batters on the crease, India will be eyeing to take a big first innings lead and put England right on the backfoot in this first Test match.
