The Indian cricket team had a dominating Day 1 of the second Test match against England at Lord’s cricket ground. At stumps, the Virat Kohli-led side were 276/3. While Kl Rahul remained unbeaten on 127 runs, Rohit Sharma played a vital role and scored 84 runs. The duo gave dream start to their team and notched up 126 runs for the opening partnership. England on the other hand finished the day on high as Indian skipper Virat Kohli nicked one off just few overs before the stumps.

After providing a great start to his team in the second Test match against England at Lord’s cricket ground, senior Indian opener Rohit Sharma addressed the post-match press conference at the end of Day 1.

The reporter told Mumbai Indians skipper that if the Virat Kohli-led side manages to beat England in the second Test match, it will be another wonderful reason for the whole of India to celebrate their Independence Day, which is celebrated across the country on 15th August 2021.
Replying to this, India’s limited-over vice-captain Rohit Sharma offered a salute and said that it would indeed be a great feat if India manages to win the second Test during the time of the Indian Independence Day.

The senior Indian opener Rohit Sharma looked a class apart in the ongoing second Test match between England and India at Lord’s cricket ground. The right-handed batsman showed great resilience and composer and paved his way through the half-century.
Just when the Mumbai Indians skipper looked set for his first overseas Test hundred, a snorter from James Anderson saw Rohit Sharma back in the dressing room for 84 runs. The English pacer produced a moment of brilliance and bowled an inswinging delivery to castled Sharma’s defence in the 44th over.
