ENG vs IND 1st Test Live: Without much of doubt, Team India has dominated the proceedings both with the ball and bat so far in the ongoing first Test against England. India captain Virat Kohli did ended up losing yet another toss but his bowlers did not disappoint him displaying a stunning performance in the first innings. The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul also showed solid temperament on Day 2 to keep the visitors very much on top.
Rohit, Rahul blunt the England pacers
England started the opening session on Day 2 with the combo of James Anderson and Ollie Robinson. Both the pacers bowled tight lines but the Indian openers were also very much ready for the challengers. Rahul and Rohit tackled the sensational bowling display remarkably well to come out unbeaten while batting for a complete session. In a very noticeable fact, both the Indian batters looked very patient to leave the good balls and at the same time, never really missed any scoring opportunities.
Incidentally, this is India’s best opening partnership in the last 10 years in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia) countries. However, just when things were looking great for India, Rohit Sharma threw away his wicket just at the the stroke of lunch off a short delivery from Ollie Robinson. Rohit got out after scoring 36 runs and India finished the opening session on Day 2 at 97 for 1 with KL Rahul looking really solid at 48 not out.

India may have won this first session on Day 2 but England will be much relieved with Rohit’s wicket at the end. India are still trailing by 86 runs.

ENG vs IND 1st Test live
Earlier on Day 1, India’s pace quartet comprising of Jasprit Bumrah , Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur bowled really well in partnership to rattle England for a total of 183 runs. Bumrah was the pick of the Indian bowlers taking four vital wickets while Shami picked three wickets as well. Shardul was also really impressive picking the prized scalp of England captain Joe Root who played really well during his 64-run knock.
