Australia have received a major blow ahead of the second T20I against India as pace bowler Kane Richardson has been ruled out of the remaining series against India due to an injury. The pace bowler will return to Australia while the team management has included another pacer Andrew Tye in the squad as his replacement.

Richardson had suffered an injury in a practice session ahead of the first T20I. He didn’t feature in the first game and now has aggravated the injury ahead of the second T20I which has resulted in ruling him out for the remaining series against India.

David Beakley, the Australia team physio said that Kane reported some left side pain at training prior to the opening T20I in Vizag and unfortunately he has not recovered well enough in order to play a further part in the tour.
He explained that the pace bowler will return home to continue his rehabilitation, and they will monitor his progress over the coming weeks.
Andrew Tye to replace Richardson
Richardson was one of the architects of Melbourne Renegades’ title win in the recently concluded Big Bash League. The pace bowler was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament and this impressive show had earned him a place in Australia’s squad for the India series.
The team management has roped in Andrew Tye as a replacement for Richardson. Tye has played 123 T20s so far and has claimed 176 wickets. He too performed well in the Big Bash League and claimed 14 wickets.
