Cricket is a game that relies heavily on team chemistry and the players’ ability to work together. However, sometimes even the best cricketing partnerships can be torn apart by one player abusing another during a match. Here are five times when Indian cricketers abused their teammates during matches:
Virat Kohli – Gautam Gambhir
This event occurred during the Indian Premier League’s 2013 season. When Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir got into a verbal brawl in the middle of the match between RCB and KKR, things turned ugly. When Virat Kohli was caught at the sweeper cover, Gambhir and the rest of the team gathered in the centre to celebrate.
Gambhir began approaching Virat with rage after an apparent exchange of words between the two. Instead of going back, Virat remained still at short cover. Rajat Bhatia, a veteran Delhi player, had to interfere to keep them from fighting. After the contest, both of them downplayed the incident.
