France Team News:

  • France head coach Corinne Diacre has had a plethora of talented players at her disposal and she had to drop a few whiles naming her final squad.

  • One of the players missing out is Barcelona’s experienced midfielder Kheira Hamraoui.
  • But the big surprise was of Marie Katoto, who wasn’t selected despite topping the goalscoring charts for PSG in the Division 1 Féminine.

Here is France squad for the World Cup:

  • Goalkeepers: Sarah Bouhaddi, Solène Durand, Pauline Peyraud-Magnin
  • Defenders: Julie Debever, Sakina Karchaoui, Amel Majri, Griedge Mbock Bathy Nka, Ève Périsset, Wendie Renard, Marion Torrent, Aïssatou Tounkara
  • Midfielders: Charlotte Bilbault, Élise Bussaglia, Maéva Clémaron, Onema Grace Geyoro, Amandine Henry, Gaëtane Thiney
  • Forwards: Viviane Asseyi, Delphine Cascarino, Kadidiatou Diani, Valérie Gauvin, Emelyne Laurent, Eugénie Le Sommer

——————————————————————————————————————–

Possible Ins or Outs:

  • Amel Majri should be preferred over Ève Périsset for the right-back position.
  • The core of the team is made formed of players from Lyon. It’s good for France as the understanding between the players will give them an edge over other teams.
  • At the back, Lyon’s pair Griedge Mbock and Wendie Renard will be starting, while Torrent and Majri are good at starting the counter attacks, and will surely be in the starting 11.

  • The midfield is stocked with talented players, but there can’t be spots for all of them. Though, the hard working Amandine Henry will definitely start in the heart of the midfield. Elise Bussaglia is often paired with her and we see this to be the case here as well.
  • In the forward positions, Diacre has her hands full of options. Gaëtane Thiney, Eugénie Le Sommer, Kadi Diani, Valérie Gauvin, and Delphine Cascarino are all looking to start here. Lyon’s Cascarino and Le Sommer provide width, while Thiney is versatile enough to play either as a playmaker or a supporting offensive midfielder.

  • Valérie Gauvin is good in the air. She has shown combativeness and physical strength which are reminiscent of an attacking player. Though PSG’s Diani is an option as well.

Probable XI: Sarah Bouhaddi (GK), Marion Torrent, Griedge Mbock Bathy, Wendie Renard, Amel Majri, Grace Geyoro / Elise Bussaglia, Amandine Henry, Gaëtane Thiney, Viviane Asseyi / Delphine Cascarino, Eugénie Le Sommer, Valérie Gauvin

South Korea Team News:

  • No injury concerns for South Korea. All the big guns, expected to be named, are in the squad.

South Kore squad for the World Cup:

  • Goalkeepers: Kang Ga-ae, Kim Jung-mi, Jeon Ha-neul, Jung Bo-ram
  • Defenders: Kim Do-yeon, Kim Hye-ri, Shin Dam-yeong, Jang Sel-gi, Lim Seon-joo, Park Se-ra, Jung Young-a, Lee Eun-mi, Hwang Bo-Ram
  • Midfielders: Cho So-hyun, Jeon Ga-eul, Ji Sun-mi, Kim Yun-ji, Kang Chae-rim, Kang Yu-mi, Lee Min-a, Lee So-dam, Lee Young-ju, Moon Mi-ra
  • Forwards: Ji So-yun, Jung Seol-bin, Lee Geum-min, Son Hwa-yeon, Yeo Min-ji

Probable XI: Kim Jung-Mi (GK), Jang Sel-gi, Kim Do-yeon, Hwang Bo-ram, Kim Hye-ri, Cho So-hyun, Young-Ju Lee, Kang Yu-Mi, Ji So-yun, Lee Geum-min, Jung Seol-bin

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Eugénie Le Sommer. Image @Twitter

France’s Eugénie Le Sommer – Eugénie Le Sommer, vice-captain and No. 9, has scored more than 70 goals for her country, and is coming to the tournament high on confidence after winning her sixth Champions League title with Olympique Lyonnais Féminin.

She has racked up an incredible 28 goals in the 2018-19 season, including 9 for her country.

We back France to dominate the game here, and preferring their players is a no-brainer. The hosts boast too many attacking players on their roster like Valérie Gauvin, but we go with Amandine Henry who will be marshaling the troops from the midfield.

From South Korea, Ji So-yun, country’s highest goal scorer with 54, and captain Cho So-hyun are unmissable. Select both these players in your Dream11 football fantasy team.
