Faroe Islands Team News:
- Feora Islands’ squad is not different from the one named by Lars Olsen for the last two international games.
Here is the squad:
Teitur Matras Gestsson, Karstin Hansen, Kristian Joensen, Atli Gregersen, Odmar Færø, Viljormur Davidsen, Magnus Egilsson, Gilli Rólantsson Sørensen, Andrias Høgnason Eriksen, Heini Vatnsdal, Rene Shaki Joensen, Hallur Hansson, Brandur Hendriksson Olsen, Rógvi Baldvinsson, Kaj Leo í Bartalsstovu, Árni Frederiksberg, Sølvi Vatnhamar, Meinhard Egilsson Olsen, Jákup Biskopstø Andreasen, Klæmint Andrasson Olsen, Jákup Ludvig Thomsen, Hafnarfjørður, Jóannes Bjartalíð
Possible ins or outs of this game:
- Klæmint Olsen will once again be leading the attack for the hosts. Though Jakup Thomsen scored the team’s only goal in Game-1, his wastefulness in that particular game means the 21-year-old will have to contend with a place on the bench.
- Hallur Hansson is expected to play in an advanced midfield role to support the attack.
- Viljormur Davidsen, who scored his team’s goal against Romania in the last game, is sure shot to start at left-back.
- Gunnar Nielsen and Teitur Gestsson will be battling for a place between the poles, with the latter looks to get the nod here considering the number of goals Faroe conceded in the last two games.
- Odmar Faero and Atli Gregersen should start at the back.
———————————————————————————————————————–
Probable XI: G Nielsen (GK), V. Davidsen, Odmar Færø, Atli Gregersen, Gilli Rólantsson, René Joensen, Brandur Olsen, Heini Vatnsdal, Kaj Leo í Bartalsstovu, Hallur Hansson, Klæmint Olsen
Spain Team News:
- First head-coach Luis Enrique won’t be overseeing Spain’s next two games as he continues to be absent due to some serious “personal reasons”.
Assistant coach Robert Moreno will be calling the shots from the touchline. - In terms of the team news, there are more than a few surprising inclusions, while some players might feel hard done by for their expulsion.
- The biggest name is certainly of Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta. The 29-year-old right-back is one of the best players in this position and was a consistent performer for the Blues last season.
- Paco Alcacer can empathize with Azpilicueta after the Borussia Dortmund attacker encountered the same fate.
- Napoli forward José Callejón has been snubbed for the umpteenth time.
Possible ins or outs of this game:
- David de Gea made some blunders at the back end of Manchester United’s 2018-19 season, forcing some fans to compare him with Loris Karius. And then think about Kepa Arrizabalaga’s form for Chelsea, which has been phenomenal, to say the least, and the latter certainly seems to jump ahead in line to keep the gloves for Spain’s next few games. But we don’t think this would happen here and back De Gea to start in goal.
- Sergio Ramos is in the squad, so one centre-back spot is fixed. There are three other central defenders in Spain squad in Mario Hermoso, Diego Llorente and Inigo Martinez. The former started the last game and should be the case here as well.
- For the left-back, both Jose Gaya and Jordi Alba will put forward their names. We back Gaya to start.
- Sergi Roberto can play in the midfield as well as on the right flank. Against Malta, we saw him at right-back. But Carvajal missed that match but he is in the squad now and will certainly start ahead of Roberto.
- Sergio Busquets will start as a holding midfielder, with Dani Parejo and Rodrigo providing further options in that department.
- Iago Aspas is the top scorer for Spain this season and could start, though we think Alvara Morata is ahead in line, while the likes of Isco and Marco Asensio will look to help them in the attacking department.
- Worth mentioning the name of Santi Cazorla. the 34-year-old was a shock admission into Spain’s squad, but his firm suggests his place came on the merit.

Probable XI: De Gea (GK), Carvajal, Ramos, Hermoso, Alba, Parejo, Busquets, Isco, Rodrigo, Morata, Asensio
Potential Game Changers: Top fantasy picks and the Dream11 points earned in the last few games
Alvaro Morata – 19.5, 10
Hallur Hansson – (First Game on Dream11)
Marco Asensio – 7.5, 4.5
Sergio Ramos – 13.5, 16
Viljormur Davidsen – (First Game)
Stats and facts:
This will be just the 3rd meeting between these two countries and Spain hold a 100% record against their opponent.
The first ever meeting came in 1996, which La Roja won 6-2, before winning 3-1 winners in October 1997.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
We expect a goal fest here. Faroe’s backline has already shipped 6 goals in two games and both the opponents were not anywhere near Spain’s talent.
That’s why choosing the likes of Alvaro Morata and Marco Asensio could be a win-win situation for all the Dream11 players.
That said, expect Spain to absolutely boss the midfield here, and in that sense, the likes of Dani Parejo and Sergio Busquets not only have a lot of touches but expect them to fly further upfield and have a say in the final third.
Suggested combination:
Goalkeeper: De Gea
Defenders: Davidsen, Sergio Ramos, Carvajal
Midfielders: Hansson, B H Olsen, Parejo, Rodri, Asensio (VC)
Forwards: Morata (C), K Olsen
SPA vs FAI Dream11 potential winner:
Spain are an outright favorite to win the match.
