IPL 2019’s first eliminator will be between Delhi Capitals (DC) and (SRH) on 8 May 2019 at Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, India. It’s the first time in IPL history that a team has made it to the finals with just six wins, SRH placing 4^th in the points table, just above Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab, ranked mainly due to their net run rate. In the 2019 IPL league matches both teams attained 1 win each,so this will be a draw breaker match. DC has never won a playoff match in the history of IPL, but SRH typically makes it this far. Both teams will have a difficult time playing without key players.

DC have finally been given a chance to play in the final rounds of the IPL tournament, captain Shreyas Iyer will need to keep his team of young players calm and confident as they have never experienced playing under such high pressure. Their batting unit is in good form and we are expecting a lot from players like Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Colin Ingram, and Rishab Pant who always hit on target. An added advantage, the pitch in Visakhapatnam is known to have the flattest batting conditions in the country, so DC has a high chance of coming out strong. An injury to Kagiso Rabada could not have come at a worse time, his replacement Trent Boult will have to up his game to ensure the team does not fall back. The pitch is also advantageuous for spinners, so it is likely Amit Mishra and Axar Patel will keep their place in the eleven.

This IPL has not been easy for SRH, they definitely struggled through the tournament, and it is the first time they have made it this far, that too with just 6 wins under their belt. Now, in the most crucial games they will have to manage without David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, leaving the team with a weak batting unit. All the pressure is on batters Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Manish Pandey and Mohammad Nabi; but based on their previous performance, we can say they will be tough competition for DC’s bowlers. Further, SRH’s bowlers are nothing to be worried about, Khaleel Ahmed, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, and Mohammad Nabi form a dangerous combination for DC. Without their overseas players, SRH has a strong bowling attack but a uncertain batting unit.
