While Lyon aren’t having a good season either. In fact, the club is in turmoil with players and the manager having no clue about where the club is heading.

Part of that because of the uncertain future of manager Bruno Genesio. His contract is set to end in summer and there are no indication from the club president whether he would be offered a new one.

Jose Mourinho is also being linked with Lyon job, but no official offer has been made in that regard.

While some top players, including Nabil Fekir, are being linked with a move away from the Groupama Stadium. So in a sense, it has been quite difficult for Genesio to work in such a toxic environment.

Understandably, the results have taken a hit with Lyon failing to maintain a good run of late. They lost the last two matches including a chastening 2-3 loss in the French Cup semifinal.
