SRH vs RCB IPL 2019 Preview: RCB’s batting might versus Hyderbad’s bowling prowess

These are two teams who haven’t played according to their reputation. SRH was supposed to be the best bowling unit of IPL 2019 but they have leaked runs in the death in two games while RCB’s batting was expected to fire all cylinders but has failed to deliver so far.

At Hyderabad, RCB will search their first win of IPL 2019 while SRH will look to continue their good show with the bat and repair the chinks in their bowling unit.

The Hyderabad stadium was known for helping bowlers but in the first match of IPL 2019 the venue saw plenty of runs being scored.

After a drubbing by CSK, Bangalore batsman regained their form in the second game especially ABD and Kohli. But there is plenty to improve for their pace bowling unit while the form of Yuzvendra Chahal will sooth the team management.

For SRH David Warner has been unstoppable but the middle order looks a concern especially Yusuf Pathan. However their biggest worry is Bhuvneshwar’s depleted death over bowling.

Meanwhile Rashid has lived upto his reputation and has been consistent.

• RCB has historically struggled at this venue. In the nine games played here, Bangalore has won only two.  On the other hand, Sunrisers have a head-to-head record of 5-1 at this ground.

• The run machine Virat Kohli is on the verge of yet another batting record. He needs 43 more runs to score 8000 T20 runs. On the other hand, ABD has 49 IPL fifties. This shouldn’t be a bad occasion to make it 50 fifties.

Players in focus:

Virat Kohli is a price catch for any team and SRH might have the best bowler for this job. Sandeep Sharma has dismissed Kohli five times in nine innings. That is almost once every other innings.

So expect the Hyderabad pacer to get the ball the moment Kohli walks to the crease.

One player who is in serious pressure is Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The architect of SRH’s highly praised bowling unit, Bhuvi had an absymal start to IPL 2019.

He was cantered for 21 runs by Andre Russell and in the last match gave away 24 and 21 runs in his last two overs against Royals. Can he stage a comeback and prevent further damage to his reputation?
