Teams: Stade Rennais F.C. and Lyon
Kick Off: Saturday 30 March
Match Timing: 01:15 AM (IST)
Where the game is played? Roazhon Park (Stade de la Route de Lorient) (29,778)
TV Info: Ligue 1 matches can be watched on Facebook in India.
Eleven wins, 8 draws and 9 defeats, that’s how Rennes have fared so far in the season. With 41 points from 28 games, they are 8th on the table.
It’s a return which betters their last season’s average points tally but the position on the table doesn’t augur well for manager Julien Stéphan. The top-six finish and a European adventure for the next season is the main target for the club.
The situation is not out of control by any means, and the primary objects can still be achieved. As things stand, they are just six points outside the top-four, boasting a game-in-hand. It’s a deficit which can be bridged in the remaining 10 games of the season.
But the form has to improve for Rennes who have won just once in the last four league games. And not to mention that the way team buckled at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal, in some sense, the manager is under some pressure.

Meanwhile, Lyon are a long way behind to match the points tally of last season and need 25 points from the last 9 games to match that return. But the end table is all that matters, and in that regard, they are well in position to better that aspect.

The Les Gones are 3rd on the table. This is a position which they achieved last season after accumulating an impressive 78 points from 38 matches. And that’s where they are at the moment in the current table; 53 points from 29 games with just four points separating them from 2nd placed Lille.
This is the most realistic target for Lyon and manager Bruno Génésio as PSG are too big a force to stifle with, at least this season.
They are also in the French Cup semifinal with Rennes again their opponent in that fixture. Though the result of this match may not have any bearing over the cup competition, a psychological barrier may be won by the victor here.

LYN vs REN Dream11 FANTASY TEAM:
INDIA FANTASY PREDICTION:
Rennes are averaging less than 2 points per game in home matches this season, but have suffered only two losses in 14 matches. While Lyon possess the fourth best away record in Ligue 1, winning five and losing 4 in 14 away games.
So there’s not much separating both the sides here, but Rennes are at home and we back them to avoid a defeat here.
