The game is of paramount importance for Liverpool at the moment as not only this is their game in hand over reigning champions Manchester City, but a win will take the Reds to the very top of the Premier League table.

Manchester United meanwhile are sitting at fourth with 51 points from 26 games. With Chelsea playing in the Carabao Cup final this weekend, a win would strengthen United’s grip on the top-4.

Injured – Jurgen Klopp was asked whether Dejan Lovren has a chance to feature here, and he wasn’t confident. It means the Croatian is expected to miss the match. While center-back Joe Gomez remains a long-term absentee as he recovers from an ankle injury.
Moreover, midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may have returned to the training ground but he is still a few weeks away from getting full fitness.
