To make matters worse, the Lions and the Knights have a negative net-run-rate so far. The two teams will come into the game knowing that a defeat here could get them in a lot of trouble.

Highveld Lions:

The Lions lost out to Dolphins in their first game of the Momentum One Day Cup 2019. Batting first, Dolphins posted an impressive total of 342 runs in the 50 overs and even though the Lions looked strong in their chase – they ultimately fell short. The Dolphins won the game by 19 runs to take them to the third position in the table.

Highveld Lions hade a chance to redeem themselves against the warriors in their fixture on 13th February, but the rain gods weren’t kind towards them as the match had to be abandoned. The third game of the tournament can’t come quick enough for the Lions who would do everything to gain some points at their home ground.

VKB Knights:

Much like the Lions, VKB Knights lost their opening game of the tournament. The Titans were comprehensive winners in a match where they had to chase a total of 262 runs scored by the Knights. Playing at their home ground, the Titans ran to a 9 wicket victory by successfully reaching the target in 38.4 overs.

For the second game running VKB Knights will be on the road as they head out to the Bidwest Wanderers stadium – the home of the Lions.
