India tour of New Zealand 2019 | IND vs NZ Dream11 2nd T20I Match Prediction
India vs New Zealand Match Preview | Who Will Win Today Match
Auckland, February 08, Friday at 11:30 AM IST
After the biggest defeats in T20Is in terms of runs, the Men in Blue would be hoping to bounce back and save the series when both the sides will feature at Eden Park, Auckland in the second T20I on Friday. The visitors were outplayed in all three departments at Wellington and the Kiwis took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after an easy record 80-runs win.
After getting to bat first, the hosts posted a massive total of 219-6 with the help of blistering 84 runs off just 43 balls from wicketkeeper-opener Tim Siefert, who came as a replacement for the injured Martin Guptill. Colin Munro (34 of 20), Kane Williamson (34 of 22) and Scott Kuggeleijn (20 of 7) were the other contributors to take the score past 200.
Coming to chase, India found themselves in extreme pressure at the end of PowerPlay when they lost both the openers for just 52 runs on the board. With the wickets falling down at the regular interval, India collapsed down to mere 139 with four balls to spare.
In the second game, a couple of changes can be seen on either side. The visitors were let down by the bowlers in the first game. Hardik Pandya, Khaleel Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were quite expensive and with M Siraj, Siddarth Kaul, Kedar Jadhav and Kuldeep Yadav warming the bench, the management might look for replacements. In batting, Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik were at the receiving end and with Sbhubman Gill sitting out, any one of the two can be seen making way for the youngster.
While there’s no need for a change in New Zealand, Daryl Mitchell and Colin de Grandhomme’s ordinary outing might force one. James Neesham and Doug Bracewell warmed the bench during the first game.
Head to head (in T20Is)
