A bruised New Zealand will look to bounce back in the series when they meet India for the second ODI at Mount Manugaui’s picturesque Bay Oval on Saturday. After succumbing to India’s whirly bowling unit, New Zealand will try to fix in the holes in their batting lineup and come out with a more balanced showing in the second ODI. The hosts are capable of bashing their visitors in the limited overs, as has been the case of late, and are also entirely capable of dealing with India’s challenging bowling unit. India do have the upper hand tomorrow, but underestimating the Kiwis in their own backyard can become a nightmare. Kane Williamson will be the key again but it will be the likes of Munro, Latham, and Taylor who’ll have to step up and stand tall against the Indian bowling unit. For India, the onus will again be on the bowlers to get their side home. Starting with Tom Latham ahead of MS Dhoni as Latham is expected to play a more important role for his side than Dhoni. Coming to the batting lineup, Kohli, Williamson, Rohit Sharma, and Martin Guptill are the best bet one can have. Arguably, Ross Taylor too can be picked but that won’t be a high rewarding risk as Taylor prefers dealing in ones and twos while Guptill goes for the biggies giving you more chances. Having him will offer you quite a lot of points. He can pick up a few wickets here and there and have a swing at it in the death overs garnering many points for you. But again, him playing is not confirmed. So of you’re going for a gamble, Colin de Grandhomme will be one perfect pick.
