GSW vs NYK Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:
The reigning NBA Champions Golden State Warriors will be playing host to one of the least performing teams New York Knicks at Oracle Arena, in Oakland, California, on Wednesday morning (IST).
Golden State Warriors:
There’s no doubt that the success Golden State Warriors achieved in the last five years will go down in the history books as one of the most successful and dominant eras in NBA. And the way they have won the finals, the one-sided affairs, Kevin Durant moments, Stephen Curry’s breathtaking three-pointers and not to mention Klay Thompson’s sixth-game heroics, all indicating towards an unparalleled talent that Steve Kerr has at his disposal.
However, this season the Warriors haven’t looked like all themselves, especially in big games, something where the Dubs used to produce their best moments. They have lost twice against Toronto Raptors this season already, and have come the 2nd best to Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Balzers and Houston Rockets in the last six games coming into this match. Have the teams become more used to the way Warriors’ play or are there chinks in their armours?
The last time, Steve Kerr put his team against the Sacramento Kings. The Warriors won, a close 123-127 win on the road which brought the Dubs within two games of table-toppers Denver Nuggets.
New York Knicks:
There was nothing uncanny in the last game which New York Knicks lost 111-101 to Portland Trail Blazers. This was an expected result by the whip of every prediction, after all, the Knicks are one of the worst performers in NBA this season.
Jusuf Nurkic, C. J. McCollum and Damian Lillard all proved to be too hot to handle for New York as the trio scored a combined 54 points. The bench made some significant contributions as well with Seth Curry (13 points) and Jake Layman (10 points) leading the charge for the 2nd unit.
For Knicks, Enes Kanter dropped a team-high 18 points from the bench, and also had a joint game-high 14 rebounds in the match.
Regular Season Record-
Golden State Warriors: W-26, L-14
New York Knicks: W-10, L-30
Players to watch out for:
Golden State Warriors:
Kevin Durant – He is too good. He is the two-time NBA finals MVP. He is Kevin Durant and is racking up MVP calibre numbers. This season, his average is shooting above Stephen Curry, 28.6 points per game to be precise. The former Oklahoma City Thunder has that unique ability which can change the face of the game.
Stephen Curry – He is somebody in Warriors’ roster who can outperform even Durant on a Basketball court. Arguably the best ever shooter NBA has ever seen, the 30-year-old is racking up MVP calibre numbers this season, 28.5 points per game.
New York Knicks:
Tim Hardaway Jr. – The aggressive, and the talented 6-ft-6-inch monster is New York Knicks best hope in an NBA game. The 26-year-old is also performing at more than a decent level, averaging in the 20s and remain the only Knicks’ player to do so this season. The Michigan born guard can be a match-winner in a match against any team in the NBA.
Enes Kanter – The 2011 1st round-pick made an impact from the bench last time around but couldn’t save his team from the jaws of defeat. He is dropping 15.0 points per game this season. It’s not only the points but the 26-year-old is doing a pretty good job inside the paint as he is racking up an impressive 11.0 rebounds per game this season.
