However, in the last two encounters. Gladiators have looked off colour and faced two defeats against Lalitpur Patriots and Kathmandu Kings XI.   

They will have to make a strong comeback against Chitwan Tigers repeating the same result. In their first encounter, Gladiators turned out to be the winner by 12 runs after restricting Tigers for 131-9 in response to 143 runs target.       

Net run rate opens playoffs door for Tigers

Chtiwan Tigers finished fourth in the league table with 4 points coming off 2 wins and 3 defeats in a total of five encounters. Placed just below them are defending champions Biratnagar Warriors with same numbers. The only difference between the two sides is in their net run rate. Warriors were knocked out of the tournament in their last encounter against Kathmandu Kings XI where they suffered a crushing 5 wickets defeats. A narrow-margin defeat wouldn’t have done anything wrong for Warriors but this thumping defeat knocked them out of the tournament and with a slightly better run rate Tigers roared into the playoffs.

The 2018 TVS Everest Premier League or EPL3 is the third season of the men’s domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Nepal.  The 2016 EPL was the debut season of this single round robin and playoff tournament which is administered by EPL Pvt Ltd. A total of six sides are taking part in this tournament and Paras Khadka led Biratnagar Warriors are defending the title this season.
