Both India and Pakistan are placed on top of Group A and Group B and have played three games each. While India remains unbeaten so far, Pakistan lost to Bangladesh by 84 runs in their previous group encounter.

In the last Group A encounter between India and Sri Lanka, the visitors registered 4 wickets win while chasing 260-7 on board. Batting first, Sri Lanka posted a defendable 260-7 with the help of Avishka Fernando’s (80 of 106) and Asela Gunaratne’s unbeaten 67 of 64 deliveries.

Shivam Mavi and Prasidh Krishna were the picks of bowlers for India with 3 and 2 scalps respectively.    

Coming to chase, India faced a big blow on the very first ball in the form of Atharwa Taide who went on a duck. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad (67 of 73) and Himmat Singh (126* of 140) made sure to cross the finishing line. India chased down the target in 47.3 overs with 4 wickets in hand.   

Bangladesh thrashes Pakistan in a must-win game 

Pakistan and Bangladesh locked horns in the last Group B encounter. With two one-sided wins against Hong Kong and UAE, Pakistan were already in the preliminary final while Bangladesh needed to secure a win to advance into the next round.    

Batting first, Bangladesh posted a massive total of 309-5 on the boards, courtesy Zakir Hasan (69 of 69), Mosaddek Hossain (85 of 74) and Yasir Ali (56 of 46).

Khushdil Shah and Mohammad Musa were the picks of bowlers for Pakistan with 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Coming to chase, Pakistan was bowled out at 225 in 46.5 overs, falling short 84 runs. Nayeem Hasan took three wickets while Shafiul Islam and Mosaddek Hossain took 2 wickets each.
