Liverpool host Serie A super team Napoli in a crunch UEFA Champions League match at Anfield which may define the season for Jurgen Klopp and his men, tomorrow in Liverpool, on Tuesday night (IST).

However, despite the struggles on the road, luck seems to have favoured Liverpool as far as the fate of other results is concerned. Napoli and PSG played out two draws between them and that’s the reason why the five-time European Champions are still in the hunt for the Champions League knockout rounds.

The hosts have their destiny in their own hands and need Anfield to produce another special night in Liverpool. They need to win by either 1-0 or by two clear goals to finish at least 2nd in the group.

Napoli:
Napoli may feel hard done by if they are knocked out from the Champions League this season. They are the only side remaining unbeaten in this group, and at this moment, are leading the group ahead of both PSG (2nd with 8 points) and Liverpool (3rd with six points) in the group.

Also, the three draws don’t represent a good value for their efforts. Carlo Ancelotti’s men were the better side in Serbia where they could manage just a 0-0 draw in the very first match of the season in Europe. The 2nd match saw them beating Liverpool from a last-gasp goal from Lorenzo Insigne, which was followed by a doubleheader against PSG.

The match at Parc des Princes could have been some result for the Italian outfit who ran ragged PSG for most of the game. But Angel di Maria’s insane curler robbed them of the two precious points, while the tie-in Naples ended in a 1-1 draw.

The visitors now need a draw or must avoid a defeat by two clear goals to confirm their participation in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
