After a horrific show on day one of the Adelaide Test, Team India bounced back in the game riding on R Ashwin’s top-class bowling effort. The off-spinner was especially threatening against the left-hand batsmen. Aswhin sent back three left-handers from the top order to stamp his dominance.
Ashwin too good for Harris, Marsh, and Khawaja
250 is looking a lot bigger now. Ashwin is ensuring it is more than a toe in the door now. He has bowled beautifully like he did in Birmingham.

India got off to a good start as Ishant Sharma castled Aaron Finch on the third ball of the innings. But then Shaun Marsh and Marcus Harris steadied the ship and batted with caution.
Just when the duo looked threatening, Ashwin came to India’s rescue and dismissed Harris. The debutant was done in by Ashwin’s flight and drift. The ball kissed Harris’ bat, and then his front pad and finally settled into Vijay’s hands at silly mid-off.

Soon, Ashwin’s accurate bowling forced an error from Shaun Marsh who dragged a delivery on his stumps.
The Indian off-spinner kept on pressurizing Marsh and then bowled a fuller delivery wide of off-stump. Marsh was enticed to go for a big shot but he managed only an inside edge which castled his stumps.

Ashwin ends Khawaja’s innings with a beauty
Probably this is was the wicket which will give the Indian off-spinner the most satisfaction. Everything was done so well that even a quality batsman like Khawaja failed to counter it.
There was the beautiful flight which brought Khawaja forward and then the sudden dip that ensured the batsman didn’t reach the ball and there was the classic turn which kissed the glove. And the rest was done by Pant behind the stumps.
A classic off-spinner’s dismissal against a left-hand batsman.

Earlier in the morning, Pat Cummins needed only one ball to clean up India’s innings for 250 runs.
But thanks to the effective bowling effort by the off-spinner, India kept Australia in check. The visitors picked regular wickets and prevented Australia from getting a big score.
