KBFC vs FCPC Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:
Kerala Blasters will look to keep their hopes of making into the playoffs alive when they host second-bottom FC Pune City in an Indian Super League match at home Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (Kaloor Stadium), in Kochi, Kerala, on Friday evening (IST).
Kerala Blasters:
Kerala Blasters’ hopes of qualifying to the ISL playoffs are hanging by a thread and with each passing week, it’s turning thinner and more fragile. The pressure to earn all three points in all the remaining matches is too burdensome for players and the manager alike, a kind of furnace which will, most probably, be too much to ask from the strugglers, and it’s a situation which has been engraved by Blasters themselves.
The season started with a promise after a 0-2 win at the home of two-time ISL champions ATK. It was a result out of a dream, but Kerala failed to back that performance as the team still remains without a win since the opening day.
There have been flashes though, about the team’s potential. Like the 2-2 draw in Jamshedpur which Blasters achieved after going down by two goals early in the match.
And there were always doubts and fragility within the team to hold on to the lead. And the all-unbeaten streak met its impending reality against the imperious Bengaluru FC, followed by two more losses.
But the last two matches, the two draws against Chennaiyin FC and Jamshedpur FC, have shown some promises. But can they build on those performances and put a winning streak, good enough to put them right in contention for the playoffs?
Only time will tell.
FC Pune City:
There is a wide-held belief that Southampton elongated the process of sacking manager Mauricio Pellegrino, and it could have been real haunting had the club been relegated at the end of the season. But Mark Hughes managed to mastermind two wins in the last four games to save the club from the obscurity.
And this season, in the ISL, FC Pune City became the first team to sack the manager when they showed the exit door to Miguel Angel Portugal, just after three games into the season.
Under Portugal, the team drew the first game 1-1 against Delhi Dynamos, while losing the other two 2-0 and 0-3 against Mumbai City and Bengaluru respectively.
However, his replacement Pradyum Reddy hasn’t fared impressive enough by any means.
In the seven games, Pune have earned a meagre four points, conceding a whopping 16, and scoring just six goals. The team is currently 9th in the 10-team league, sitting a massive 12 points away from the playoff spots.

KBFC vs FCPC Dream11 FANTASY TEAM:
Team 1:
The home team is in a desperate team of a win and expect them to do so against a team fighting hard not to finish at the foot of the table.
Jhingan is expected to lead the team, and his partner will be Lakic-Pesic, while Matt Mills has been Pune’s best CB so far.
Doungel can strike goals from the mid, while Narzary is somebody who has performed at a consistent level.
Stojanovic and Doungel will be our captain and vice-captain respectively.
Team 2:
Not too many changes, not at the back, but Kizito comes in the middle, a mainstay, while Vila, Marcelinho and Stankovic are from Pune.
INDIA FANTASY PREDICTION:
HIt’s a game between the teams currently struggling to show any quality on the pitch. However, if we pick one team in this match it has to be Kerala as not only they are at home but have played some good football in a few matches this season.
A home win.
