Road to Women World T20:
This series would help India gear up for the upcoming World T20 which is to be held in West Indies this November.
India has not played any T20I in over a year, with their last shortest format game being a championship winning run at the Asia Cup in December.
Expectations from Veda Krishnamurthy and skipper Harmanpreet:
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Veda Krishnamurthy have proved their mettle in the Women’s Big Bash League. Playing for Hobart Hurricanes, Krishnamurthy scored 144 runs in nine innings, while Harmanpreet, who was retained by Sydney Thunders made 107 in seven innings. Krishnamurthy has already given a glimpse of her quick-scoring abilities with a 33-balls 51 and a 64-balls 56 in the second and third ODIs on this tour.
It was a pleasure to have @vedakmurthy08 as part of #TasmaniasTeam for #WBBL03. Check out the highlights from her impressive final innings ?️⬇️

New inclusions:
India has roped in T20 specialist Anuja Patil, debutant Radha Yadav and wicket-keeper Nuzhat Parveen. Jemimah Rodrigues, the 17-year-old who came into limelight after scoring a double century in the domestic league in the latter part of 2017, is also part of the squad.

All eyes on Harmanpreet’s captaincy:
In April 2013, Kaur was handed the captaincy when Mithali Raj was rested for the limited-overs series against Bangladesh. In November 2016, she replaced Raj as captain of the T20 team for the series against West Indies.
Harmapreet’s captaincy record is impressive in which India has achieved a win-loss ratio of 2.250.
Harmanpreet has reached to great heights in terms of stature, marketability and has established herself as an international cricketer.
But, would she be able to take her team closer towards the dream of clinching a T20I World Cup or not, only time will tell.
An Innings of a lifetime , Harmanpreet Kaur . What wonderful clean hitting. More than 60% of India's runs.
