Indian cricketer Mithali Raj has written a letter to BCCI in which she has made shocking claims and has revealed her strained relations with coach Ramesh Powar while criticizing COA member Diana Edulji.

Edulji used her position against me: MithaliĀ

The Indian cricketer has written in her letter that never did she think that Edulji will use her position against her, more after hearing what all she had to go through in the Caribbean as she had spoken to her about it.

Mithali notes that Edulji’s brazen support in the press with regard to the decision of Mithali’s benching in the semi-final of the Women’s world T20 has left her deeply distressed, more because she knows the real facts having spoken to the Indian batter.

AccordingĀ to Mithali, Edulji’s statement saying ā€˜selection is not the COAā€™s headacheā€™ is like suggesting there is no system of cheques and balances and anyone can do anything and get away because they have the backing of people in power.

The right-hand batter revealed that coach Powar would not even acknowledge her and to him,Ā she didnā€™t exist in the team. She noted that if she was around he would immediately move away from the scene, if she looked to wish him he would deliberately start looking in other direction.

She further noted that all this was worrying and insulting because the coach was out to destroy and humiliate her.

She also revealed that she couldnā€™t control her tears having given it her all for 20 years and she thinks that her efforts had no value.

At the same time, she made it clear that she has nothing against the T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur except for the fact that her call to support the decision of the coach to leave her out of the eleven was baffling and hurtful.

Mithali stated that she wanted to win the world cup for her country and it hurts her because they lost a golden opportunity. But she is of the opinion that Harman and herself are senior players and their issues, if any, should be sorted out by the two of them by sitting across the table.
