Athletes join Kohli for #JerseyKnowsNoGender movement

The Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli kickstarted the #JerseyKnowsNoGender movement on Twitter to support India’s women cricket team and in no time he has received astounding support. Several athletes have shared their pictures and messages on Twitter to support Team Inda in ICC’s women’s world T20.

In a video posted on Twitter, Virat Kohli asked everyone to support Indian women cricket team. He said that he is super proud of India’s girls wearing our colors and playing their hearts out. He added that wearing the jersey and playing for your country is a proud moment and this jersey doesn’t care who you are, where you come from, or what your gender is. He asked everyone to hold their arms up and support Team Indian in the West Indies.

Kohli receives a tremendous response
Soon after the Indian captain posted the video on Twitter, athletes and fans across the country joined him to support Team India in the women’s world T20.
Badminton superstar and Olympic medal winner Saina Nehwal, tennis star Sania Mirza, iconic football player Sunil Chhetri and cricketer Rishabh Pant posted their pictures on Twitter along with their messages.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of India’s women cricket team was excited to see the support the team is receiving and thanked everyone. She too posed for the JerseyKnowsNoGender movement.
She said, “The love & support flooding social media is overwhelming. Feels great to have cemented another win & we promise to do you proud. Your support has charged us up and we are raring to go. This one’s for you India!”.

Meanwhile, the Indian team continued its stellar show in the world T20 and demolished Ireland. With this win, the team has reached the semi-finals of the ICC tournament.
