India vs Pakistan champions trophy 2025

The Champions Trophy 2025 promises a high-octane cricket fixture between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, one of the most anticipated clases in international cricket calendar. Scheduled for Sunday, 23 February, the India vs Pakistan match will take place in the UAE under the tournament’s hybrid hosting model.

India’s Champions Trophy 2025 Matches

India is placed in Group A, alongside Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. They will start their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by the high-octane match against Pakistan three days later. India’s final group stage fixture will be against New Zealand on March 2, rounding off their pool matches. All these games are likely to be held in Dubai.

Champions Trophy 2025 Start Date and Groups

The tournament kicks off on February 19, with defending champions Pakistan playing New Zealand in Karachi. Apart from Group A, Group B includes Afghanistan, Australia, England, and South Africa. While India’s matches are set to be hosted in the UAE, the rest of the group games will take place in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. Pakistan will play their final group match against Bangladesh on February 27 in Rawalpindi.

Semi-Finals and Final

The semi-finals are scheduled for March 4 and March 5, with the final on March 9. If India qualifies for the semi-finals, their match will be held in the UAE. However, if India does not make it, the semi-final will take place in Pakistan. The final is planned for Lahore but will shift to the UAE if India qualifies.

The Hybrid Hosting Model

This tournament introduces a unique hybrid hosting arrangement, agreed upon by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Emirates Cricket Board. Under this model, India’s matches will be held in the UAE to address political sensitivities. In return, Pakistan’s matches at ICC events hosted by India through 2027 will also be played at neutral venues. This agreement extends to major tournaments such as the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, and the 2028 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Mark your calendars for February 23, 2025, as India and Pakistan face off in what promises to be another chapter of their fierce cricketing rivalry!
