Kohli’s big revelation: Dhoni himself wanted to make way for Pant

The dropping of MS Dhoni from India’s T20 squad stirred the cricket fraternity and now Indian skipper Virat Kohli has made an interesting revelation in this issue by saying that Dhoni himself wanted to make way for Rishabh Pant in the T20 format.

The selectors have dropped MS Dhoni from India’s T20 squad for Windies and Australia and have picked Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik as the wicket-keepers.

While speaking in the in the post-match media conference after the 5th ODI against Windies, Indian skipper Virat Kohli revealed that the Indian wicket-keeper feels that in the T20 format, someone like Rishabh can get more chances, and that’s why he made way for him in the T20 team. Kohli also pointed out that Dhoni anyway plays the ODIs for India regularly.

The right-hand batsman mentioned that the former India captain is only trying to help the youngsters and he made it clear that it is nothing like what other people are thinking and as captain, he can certainly assure everyone of that.

The Indian captain also revealed that the Indian wicket-keeper has been spoken to first about this issue and the selectors have come out and explained exactly what happened. So he feels that there is no reason why he should be sitting here and explaining that.

Kohli announces, Dhoni integral part of India’s team

The Indian captain also brushed aside the speculations of Dhoni’s career getting over by saying that the wicket-keeper batsman is still a very integral part of this team and he also thinks that people are putting many variables into the situation, which is not the case and he can assure that.
