Let’s discuss selections of India Test Squad for West Indies 2023
Following the disappointment of their loss in the World Test Championship final against Australia at the Oval, India has made some bold decisions by introducing fresh faces into the Test setup. Veteran batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has been left out of the squad, making way for the inclusion of uncapped batters Yashaswi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Jaiswal and Gaikwad had outstanding seasons in the IPL, where they opened the batting for Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, respectively. In addition to the batting reinforcements, pacers Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini have earned spots in the squad, while Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav have missed out. Ajinkya Rahane has been appointed as the vice-captain of the squad, with Rohit Sharma continuing to lead the team. Unfortunately, Jasprit Bumrah remains unavailable due to his ongoing recovery from a back injury.
