The Indian cricket team’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma smashed 152 runs off 117 balls to take India home in the first ODI against Windies. Doing so, he became the first cricketer to have six scores of 150 plus runs in ODIs. He also produced some stunning strokes in his masterpiece that demolished the Windies bowling attack. And courtesy of this sensational knock, the Indian opener is receiving plenty of appreciation on Twitter from cricketers and fans.

On a batting friendly surface, Shimron Hetmyer’s 106 runs off 78 balls carried the Windies to 322 in 50 overs. But then the Indian skipper tagged with Rohit Sharma and the duo steered India home with ease. Kohli brought up his 36th ODI hundred and scored 140 runs off 107 balls. But it was Rohit Sharma who stole all the limelight with his 15 fours and eight sixes. Rohit’s sensational innings of 152 runs allowed India to chase the target in just the 43rd over.

With Kohli playing aggressively, the Indian vice-captain took his time to settle down. But once the spinners came to bowl, the Indian opener unleashed his fury. He smashed Devendra Bishoo for two consecutive sixes and then scored three consecutive boundaries against Thomas to take India home.
Rohit the leader of giant scores in ODIs
The Indian opener has now reached the 150 run-mark on six occasions in ODIs so far and he is the first batsman in the world to do so. He now has 20 ODI centuries to his name.

People who are debating as to why Virat Kohli gets Man Of the Match instead of Rohit Sharma should keep in mind a critical difference – It is Man Of the Match and NOT Legend Of the Match.
