Despite regular captain Shikhar Dhawan not playing, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) have managed to pull off an incredible 2-wicket victory over the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 21st game of Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) being played at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. This is the third victory for the Punjab Kings in the 16th edition of the IPL which eventually came in a low-scoring last over thriller. During the run-chase, the Punjab Kings once again got off to a disappointing start having ended up losing as many as three wickets inside the first six overs of the powerplay. Matthew Short played a crucial cameo of 34 runs off 22 deliveries but he failed to convert yet another start. Punjab Kings collapsed to 112 for 5 in 14.3 overs after which Sikandar Raza smashed an excellent innings of 57 runs off 41 balls that consisted of 4 fours and 3 sixes to turn the game in his team’s favour.
