After two straight defeats, Royal Challengers Bangalore are suddenly on the backfoot. They need a win and need it desperately to get some momentum back. Playing their third game of the season at home, RCB are looking to get back to winning ways and for the same reason, they have sidelined Karn Sharma from their eleven.
RCB vs DC: Why is Karn Sharma Not Playing Today’s IPL 2023 Match?
In what comes as a surprise move, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have sidelined their leading wicket-take of the season Karn Sharma. However, Sharma is available among the substitutes and could come into the eleven as an Impact player. RCB is currently batting and do not need the services of Karn Sharma in the first innings, therefore, he may get into the eleven once RCB starts bowling in the second innings. Here’s what Faf du Plessis said at the toss,
“Would have done the same. Hopefully it will turn in the second innings. This stays a good wicket generally. Will be important for me and Virat to assess the conditions early. It’s difficult to defend in death overs. We have been good at our home ground as a batting unit. You got to pick your best batters and bowlers. Hasaranga comes in for Willey.“

Karn Sharma IPL 2023 Salary
During the 2022 Mega Auction, he was purchased for his base price of INR 50 lakhs by RCB. Sharma is a spin bowling all-rounder who made his IPL debut in 2013 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he took 11 wickets in his first season. In 2014, he was the second highest wicket-taker, picking up 15 wickets, and had a decent run in 2015. He was a member of the winning teams in 2016 and 2017 with Hyderabad and Mumbai, respectively. In 2017, he recorded 13 wickets for Mumbai Indians but was later released into the auction pool. CSK signed him as an Indian leg-spinner, but he did not play regularly. He will be playing for RCB in 2023 yet again at the same price from last year.
