Kohli’s dismissal raises eyebrows 

Virat Kohli once again looked in ominous form and was set for a big score in the second Test against Windies at Hyderabad. But when he was playing on 45 off 77 balls he was adjudged leg before wicket to Windies skipper Jason Holder.  This dismissal came as a surprise for a lot of people as Kohli is generally known for converting his starts into a big one. Former cricketer Ajit Agarkar too was amused to see the Indian captain giving away his wicket after settling down.

Kohli misses a straight delivery by Holder

The Indian skipper arrived at the crease when Windies had dismissed Prithvi Shaw and were looking to stage a comeback in the match. But Kohli, with his terrific technique and composure, didn’t allow Windies to consolidate and started ticking the scoreboard with Ajinkya Rahane.

The Indian captain soon moved on to 45 but then in the 43rd over he missed a delivery from Holder. The ball pitched outside off-stump and came straight in. The right-hand batsman failed to judge the trajectory of the ball and closed the face of the bat too early. The ball crashed on to his pads and the umpire ruled him out leg before wicket.

Agarkar feels it was uncharacteristic of Kohli to get out in that fashion

While speaking with an online cricket portal, former India cricketer Ajit Agarkar said that it was very uncharacteristic of Virat Kohli to miss out on a straight ball as he usually doesn’t miss those. He also added that Prithvi Shaw made the mistake of offering a catch in the covers because of excitement or maybe inexperience.

At the same time, he appreciated the visitors for picking quick wickets in the afternoon session after Prithvi Shaw blazed off to a quick start.

India finished the day on 308 for four wickets down with Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant at the crease.
