IND vs AUS: Pat Cummins Out of India vs Australia 3rd Test? Who will be Australia Captain?
Cricket Australia (CA) have officially announced that Steve Smith will captain the Australia team in the upcoming third Test against India scheduled to begin from Wednesday as Pat Cummins will not be able to return in time due to family illness. Incidentally, Cummins flew back to his home in Sydney just after Australia lost the second Test match in India by a margin of 6 wickets as his mother was ill and in palliative care. However, with a nine-day break between the second and third Test match, he was supposed to return back in time but CA have now confirmed that their regular skipper will miss the Indore Test against India.
It is also to be noted that the duo of Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green have recovered completely from their injuries and will return to the playing 11 for the upcoming game. In the meanwhile, the likes of David Warner, Josh Hazlewood, Ashton Agar and Matt Renshaw have already returned home.
